Try (assuming you're using authuser):

   # ... settings here
   include_once('scripts/authuser.php');

   if (@$AuthId) $Author = $AuthId;
   else { 
     $EnablePost = 0;
     $MessagesFmt[] = "Posting not allowed w/o login";
   }
