For myself, I rarely use per-group/page configuration. Although, if
the need arose I'd think a variation on the field approach would work
on the per-group level. Following my earlier example:

example.net/vinyard/Grape/PressingGrapes

Would read the following field/group configuration files:
/pmwiki-share/vinyard.php
/pmwiki-share/vinyard-Grape.php
