The counter-argument to this is that some skins use floating
elements for sidebars and menus, and forcing a clear will cause
the preview to always appear below these elements -- i.e., with
a big empty space between the edit box and the beginning of the
preview.

So, rather than have the default Site.EditForm force the clear,
I think it's better done as a local.css or local customization
of some sort.
