Questions answered by this recipe
How can I use PmWiki for organizing personal data -eg, as a PIM?
Solution for PIM while browsing (Firefox version)
- Create a page on your wiki to add information while your are browsing
- Visit the page in edit mode
- Bookmark it
- Right-click on that bookmark and select "Properties"
- Check the box that says "Load this bookmark in sidebar"
- Open it and that's it, you're done!

Unless you cart it in a laptop, you may want to replicate your wiki/data across the various location you use it in
- WikiCVSStorage - using CVS to synchronize multiple installations used for personal notes
- TwoWayMirroringWithRsync
If you want to run on a localhost, check Requirements
The Standalone recipe provides a special, bare-bones webserver application that can be used to run PmWiki in places where another webserver isn't available. WikiOnAStick also looks promising.
- OtherMichael runs XAMPP
You can also use InterMap in order to link easily from your local wiki (in order to store very private information like contacts) with your public wiki (in order to showcase your notes, tools, ...).

ToDo lists or Issue-Tracking System?
- ToDo, VerySimpleToDo
- PITS, JITS
I've been trying JITS, and having nice results. But the interface is not as slick as ToDo for the straight-out-of-the-box ToDo list user.... --OtherMichael
