Obtaining CVS for Windows

CVS is usually already installed on *nix systems, but it doesn't come with windows. You can download a precompiled binary (version 1.11.20) from here.

The installation is very easy, just extract the executable (cvs.exe) to somewhere in your path (i.e. in some directory that is referenced by the environment variable PATH). Just type

	path

from a DOS prompt to see your current path.

Another solution for the neophyte CVS user is to download TortoiseCVS from http://www.tortoisecvs.org/. While CVS is easy, especially for those who know how to use command line programs, TortoiseCVS brings CVS to Windows in a fully functional manner using Open Source Software. NeI
